How it works

Three steps, zero uploads

Because everything happens inside your browser tab, most tools finish in under a second.

1

Pick a tool & drop your file

Drag files onto the upload area or click to browse. Nothing is transmitted — the file is read straight from your disk into memory.

2

Tune the options

Choose quality levels, page ranges, sizes or formats. Live progress bars show exactly what's happening.

3

Download the result

Grab individual files or everything at once as a ZIP. Close the tab and it's all gone — no traces, no accounts.

Your files stay yours. Always.

ToolNest has no backend. Every conversion, compression and calculation runs locally using the File API, Canvas and Web Crypto — so confidential documents never touch a server we (or anyone else) could see.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Correct. ToolNest is a fully static website — there is no server code at all. Files are read with the browser's File API, processed in memory with JavaScript, and written back to your disk as downloads. You can even disconnect from the internet after loading the page and every tool keeps working.
There's no catch — no accounts, no watermarks, no daily limits, no premium tier. Because processing happens on your device instead of on paid servers, the tools cost nothing to run.
Any modern browser: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Safari. One honest exception: saving images as WebP currently requires Chrome or Edge, because Firefox and Safari can't yet encode WebP on a canvas. The affected tools detect this and tell you clearly instead of pretending.
When a tool produces many files at once (like splitting a PDF per page), browsers would either block the batch or spam you with dozens of download prompts. Bundling them into one ZIP — built locally with JSZip — gives you a single clean download.
Upload zones accept files up to 30 MB each (200 MB for PDF manipulation), but the real limit is your device's memory since processing is local. On a typical laptop, hundreds of megabytes of total work is realistic.
Yes. All libraries (jQuery, pdf-lib, pdf.js, JSZip) are bundled locally with the site — there are no CDN calls. Host the folder anywhere, or open it through a tiny local server, and it works with the network cable unplugged.
